Welcome

Plano Aikido Center is affiliated with the United States Aikido Federation (USAF). Our instructor is Sidney Shiba sensei, 6th Dan and Shidoin, who has studied Aikido since 1984.

Aikido is a martial art that emphasizes more than fighting skill. Rather, it seeks to blend with, control and then dissipate the hostile energy of one or more attackers. Focusing on method rather than strength, Aikido is particularly suited to women, children and the elderly. Explore a way of life committed to peace and harmony, personal improvement and self defense.

When you sign up, whether a newcomer or seasoned participant, you are welcome at any scheduled practice.

Plano Aikido Center is a non-profit corporation in which members and instructors pay monthly dues. The dojo budget is dedicated to covering the dojo expenses and allows the purchase of training materials such as bokken (wooden sword), jo (wooden staff) and tanto (wooden knife).
